        Verdict

        Merrymadcap has been in good form lately and can confirm his superiority over Jakarmi and Buscador, despite having a stiffer test under a 6lb penalty. The in-form Itcanbedone Again is also shortlisted as one to watch in the betting market, as the son of Sri Pekan is still well treated on the pick of his old form and, having proved himself capable back in handicap company, he holds each-way claims again here. Buscador likes his racing at Wolverhampton and, as six-time course winner, he can never be ruled out back at his favourite track. However, he needs everything to drop just right if he is going to get the better of the selection and now has a little to prove. Jakarmi has been banging on the door at this level and deserves a change of fortune. Still, he is on a very long losing run and his ability to find a few too strong in a finish has cost his supporters dearly. Therefore, we stick with Merrymadcap, who won with a bit in hand over course and distance 11 days ago and, as he faces a similar task this afternoon, there is every reason to expect a big run from the Michael Blanshard-trained gelding.
