In depth

Verdict

Nags To Riches stepped up on his debut effort when a decent second in a Southwell maiden earlier this month and Jamie Osborne's gelding has to be respected on that evidence but preference is for Might Be Magic, who gets the vote with Awesome Light rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was well held on his Newmarket debut but ran much better on his recent return when chasing home Rowan Rio at Lingfield over 1m2f. The drop back in trip should suit Peter Chapple-Hyam's gelding and he is taken to open his account. Me No Puppet has shown signs of ability and makes more appeal than Crystal Spirit but a bigger threat is likely to come from Willie Muir's consistent Awesome Light. Might Be Magic makes most appeal though and he is preferred.
