Verdict

Many of these are course and or distance winners, including our selection MUKTASB, with main dangers expected to be Tenancy and Spirit of Coniston. The gelding, which looks the pick of Derek Shaw's two runners, with the other being Rabbit Fighter, won a similar event here in January, with Spirit of Coniston well down the field, but he should be closer this time around given a switch around in the weights. The roles have previously been reversed, but two years ago. A further trawl through the stats will show that Spirit of Consiton and Tenancy have also beaten each other, but again, not recently. The step back up to six furlongs looks a positive for Muktasb. Tenancy likes to get his toe in, with his wins to date coming at Southwell and on soft going at Musselburgh, so may not find conditions to suit. Along with a number of these he's been off the track for a few months, so may need the run. The last four winners of this race have been at double figure prices. It looks wide open, with none of them showing sparkling recent form, but Muktasb is well capable of landing it.
