In depth

Verdict

MATSUNOSUKE is the standout here and should win with something to spare. Ron Harris' charge ran well in a class two handicap at Lingfield last time having previously won a pair of claimers here in comfortable fashion. Jake Payne takes the ride for the first time but he's a capable young jockey and providing he has the confidence to anchor his horse in last, he should be rewarded. Excusez Moi comes out next best at the weights but Ruth Carr is without a winner in 117 days and that has to be a concern. With that in mind Abbondanza is considered more of a threat having won his sole start over this trip in this company. Dual course-and-distance winner Titus Gent has plenty to find but is likely to give his running and that may be enough for a place but it'll be a surprise should Matsunosuke fail to outclass these.
