        Verdict

        Aasser made a promising debut when runner-up over track and trip but SIR WINSTON may edge this. The latter couldn’t prevent Honky Tonk Man, rated 88, from completing a double when second at Newcastle but any further progress should see Roger Varian’s colt off the mark. Benjamin Bear and Total Lockdown finished closer on their latest starts without threatening while the newcomer Mickey Free is a half-brother to smart stablemate Kachy among others.
