Verdict

Spoof Master deserves to win this contest having found one too good in each of his last three starts but the four-year-old may have to settle for minor honours again off his current mark and preference is for Distant Sun, who gets the vote ahead of Almaty Express. The last mentioned has been running consistently well of late but he has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper so the six-year-old may have to settle for minor honours today. Stolt has had no respite from the handicapper since his success here in December and could do with being dropped a couple of pounds. Drifting Gold has plenty to find with Almaty Express on running here last month but did not show her best that day and that run may be best ignored, while Bookiesindex Boy seemingly starts the season on a harsh mark. The vote then goes to Distant Sun, who has been running with great consistency of late and is taken to resume winning ways here having had little luck in running last time.
