Verdict
Haaf A Sixpence never looked like winning when runner-up at Kempton on his debut. He still looks best of those with experience, however, as Welsh Bard finished along way behind him and Sir Dylan looks a bigger threat after a six-length defeat at this track on his first start. The newcomers Diva Donkey and Sujet Bellagio are both worth noting, but a speculative vote goes to another debutant in WESTWARD HOPE. The first offspring of a mare related to high-class fillies Balanchine and Red Slippers, he cost 50,000gns and John Hills' colt could prove good enough at the first time of asking.
