In depth
Verdict
Ziet d'Alsace is becoming rather expensive to follow and may be best watched in a race where Colemanstown is taken to supplement his recent Southwell success at the main expense of Sylva Royal. The selection was making his all-weather debut that day when coming from off the pace to collar previous winner William's Well. His running style suggests that the Polytrack should cause no problems and as that Southwell race was in an amateur riders' contest Brian Ellison's gelding escapes a penalty. Mark Brisbourne's Adobe had to drop into banded stakes company to resume winning ways last month and is clearly not as good as he once was so a bigger danger may come from Head Boy, although he has yet to prove his effectiveness over today's trip. Clive Brittain's Sylva Royal is less exposed than most of these and is of more interest than My Lilli. Tokewanna and Molinia are both recent winners in banded races and may well struggle against Colemanstown, who could be too classy for his rivals.
