In depth

Verdict

STANDPOINT finished behind a couple of higher rated rivals when third here last time. This is easier and the C&D winner can take advantage of today's favourable terms. Scamperdale has been out of sorts so far this year and time may be catching up with him but fellow veteran Daniel Thomas has been in fine fettle at Lingfield recently, although he has plenty to find with the selection at today's weights. Ahlawy should run his usual solid race without being good enough but it's hard to make a serious case for any of the remainder.
