In depth

Verdict

A couple of these arrive on the back of wins including Universal Effect, who scored over track and trip last week having tumbled down the handicap. But PHOLAS (NAP) won a more competitive contest on this surface at Newcastle three days ago under the talented Laura Pearson and another bold bid is expected from George Boughey’s filly despite carrying a penalty. Olivers Pursuit ran below par at Southwell last time but had landed a course and distance double before that while Never Said Nothing found one too good over a longer trip here last month.
