Verdict
The short list for the opener consists of Dr Light, Stanley George and Aussie Cricket, with the vote going to Aussie Cricket. A 24,000 guineas son of Medicean, Dr Light has to be considered on his debut. The Michael Jarvis-trained Stanley George showed fair form when finishing third over course and distance last time and also rates as a major player, as does Aussie Cricket, who has shown respectable form, including at this venue, and for whom the drop in trip could also help. Lets Get Cracking has shown a modicum of ability, while the 21,000 guineas purchase, Miss Fancy Pants, certainly warrants some interest on her debut. Finally, Rebel Pearl has also to be of some interest in a modest event on his debut but, overall, Aussie Cricket gets the call, although a market move for Dr Light would have to be of interest.
