Verdict
Trade Storm was good enough to win this Grade 1 event last year having finished second in the Strensall Stakes at York beforehand. That points to a big run from David O'Meara's MONDIALISTE given the latter won last month's Strensall and a bold bid is expected from him. Kaigun was runner-up in last year's renewal but the betting suggests fifth-placed Grand Arch is preferred this time round though Bill Mott's Lea may prove too good for both on his earlier second in a Grade 1 at Churchill Downs. Obviously is a winner at the highest level but has not raced since November last year while the French raider Mr Owen has a shout on his third in the 2000 Guineas at Longchamp back in May.
