Verdict
The vote here goes to Penneyrose Bay ahead of Sardagna, Calomeria and Moon Catcher. Penneyrose Bay progressed into a smart performer towards the end of last season, and ended up by winning a valuable Newbury event. If she is fit and well on her seasonal return, she is the one to beat. That said, she probably would not want the going to be too quick and she has been raised nine pounds in the ratings since Newbury. Sardagna is on a good mark in relation to her chasing rating and, if she can replicate it back over the smaller obstacles, has to be considered. Calomeria did not build on her novice promise in hurdles last season, while Moon Catcher holds claims as she is a pound below the mark from which she won at Uttoxeter last October, although more recent efforts mean that the jury is now out. Miss Skippy has been raised two pounds for her Newton Abbot win, although that success came in a seller, and Separated's win at Bangor came in a modest novice hurdle. Overall, the other pair have a few pounds to find to feature, you would have thought. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Penneyrose Bay.
