In depth

Verdict

Not much form to go on in this bumper and Paul Nicholls' unraced VALBUENA might be worth siding with in front of Pinerock and Mrs Overall. The pick joined his powerful yard and has a decent jumps pedigree, holding a bloodline with Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Call. The champion trainer does send out his fair share of bumper winners and if breeding will out he looks hard to oppose. Pinerock pulled up with something amiss on debut but as a relation to plenty of winners including some flat breeding he should put in a bold show. Mrs Overall sets the standard for those who have had a run with a placing at Newbury on his first effort so normal progression would have her firmly in the picture while Saddlewood should also build on a solid start to racing and could get into the mix. As always a market check is recommended but we expect that to show support for Valbuena.
