Verdict

Ashgan returns to the smaller obstacles after making plenty of mistakes at Stratford last time. He is only 5lb higher than his last winning hurdles mark, and if he has not lost too much of his pace for going chasing, he won't be far away. However, the one to beat is Turaath now that he has the tongue starp back on. Shamsan has been running well all summer, but he has beaten little of note, while a bigger threat could come from the well handicapped, but largely disappoiting Donatus.
