Verdict

Martin Keighley's First Watch showed some promise on his belated debut in a bumper at Wetherby earlier this month and could be of interest on his hurdling debut but it is hard to get away from CLEAR SAILING, who can follow up his recent Stratford success with the main danger rated as Admiral Dundas. Formerly with William Jarvis when rated 84 at his best on the level, the five-year-old is now trained by Kim Bailey and makes his debut over timber so he has to be considered. Anabel King's Dormouse has shown a decent level of form in four starts in bumpers and has to be of some interest on his first start over hurdles, while Don McCain's Flichity is surely better than we have seen from limited opportunities so far. The vote though goes the way of the Ian Williams-trained Clear Sailing, who was capable on the flat and has taken well to hurdles having run well first time up at Stratford before winning on a return visit to the track last month and he can win again.
