Verdict

Sovereign Spirit is the only previous course and distance winner in the field but he's been well beaten in sellers and there appear to be much more appealing options elsewhere. Any Jimmy Frost runner at lowly levels is worth a second glance and MASTER WELLS can deliver the goods. The veteran has faced an unequal struggle with the handicapper for the majority of his career, but he is in off a feasible mark, and today's rider is no stranger to riding winners between the flags. Amalric has shown little to write home about so Tom Weston's booking looks interesting. The Ginger Man has placed in a couple of point-to-points this term and Michael Scudamore's 12-year-old makes a return to racing under Rules. Mikey Ennis has ridden a Midlands National winner so Royal Peak is respected despite a series of largely uninspiring form figures.
