Verdict
With a doubt concerning the fitness of Red Canyon following a 10-month break and Orient Bay looking handicapped to the hilt, a chance is taken with Burnt Copper who is taken to open his account over fences. The selection has only raced four times over hurdles in his career but John Best's gelding has been in winning form on the flat this summer and looks to be on a handy mark for his return to the winter game. He is preferred to Mandoob who also returns to hurdling after a spell on the level but at the age of seven, may not have as much improvement in him. Sir Walter is entitle to be thereabouts off his current mark but may again have to settle for a minor role, while Shellin Hill does not look well treated back over hurdles having been chasing. A market move for Access Overseas would be of interest but the vote goes to Burnt Copper, who is taken to win his first race over timber.
