Verdict

Richard Woollacott is doing well with his string of pointers moving into open company and Come What Augustus is an interesting candidate having compiled a fine record of 15 wins from 28 runs between the flags. He ran a solid race behind Billy Blade last time and merits close attention. Iheardu sports a first-time visor and the smooth traveller will be a danger to all if sharpened up by the application of headgear, whilst Hector's House is a consistent performer and has a chance off the bottom perch. However, the wins-to-runs ratio is slightly off-putting and NO WOMAN NO CRY is a better option in a tricky contest. A fair fourth at Stratford last time after a seven-month absence, he should be cherry-ripe now and faces his optimum conditions. Absolute Shambles will enjoy the return to the smaller obstacles and completes the shortlist.
