    Verdict

Kyno, Red Perk, Fight The Feeling and Compton Commander look the most likely contenders in the opener and it might be worth siding with the last named. Compton Commander has been off the track for almost one year now but showed enough on his last racecourse visit to warrant giving him the utmost respect. That day he finished second of eleven to Oh So Brave which was his career best so far. He runs off a fair mark today and if fit and reproducing his best can take some beating. Recent Plumpton winner Kyno carries a seven pound penalty which means he carries twelve stone five pounds. His form does read well but he gives weight too all his rivals and for a five year old that is a stiff task. Red Perk won off a five pound lower mark at Newcastle in February, but that was on soft ground which he seems to favour. Fight The Feeling is another to note in the betting market and has been running consistently well over the winter period to warrant respect so any market moves should be noted. But for the winner we return to Compton Commander.
