Verdict

Winner Massagot was quite well regarded at one time and fitness should not be an issue on his first run for a new yard. MONBEG LEGEND (NAP) won three times over hurdles but always looked likely to make a better chaser and went some was towards backing up that theory at Ludlow. The runner-up won a handicap last week to frank the form and Nicky Henderson’s novice can defy his penalty here and give his trainer back-to-backs wins in this. Gustave Mahler shaped nicely over track and trip on his fencing bow and should be winning soon while Jaleo was second over 2m7f here last month and will be suited by the drop in distance. Londonia isn’t really bred for chasing but is worth a try given he’s proved a very tough sort over hurdles and travelled strongly last time at Southwell when not getting the run of the race.
