Charlie Longsdon’s string is in fine form but The Vollan has to give 7lb and upwards to his rivals courtesy of wins in handicaps at Southwell and Uttoxeter. Maiden winner Bold Record was easily held under a penalty at Southwell while Clever As A Fox has failed to build on a win over track and trip at the start of the summer. After a few near misses, LARKBARROW LAD (NAP) got off the mark at Southwell in March. He looks the type to make further progress this season, especially when the ground is riding soft. Jasmin Des Bordes has had wind surgery since disappointing at Taunton in January and still has time on his side and Win My Wings also has ability but is more exposed.
