Verdict

Our selection here is Ultimate Limit ahead of Take The Oath, He's Hot Right Now and French Direction. Ultimate Limit comes here in good heart following a Market Rasen win and, carrying just his penalty here, can go well if this does not come too soon for him. The quicker the better, going-wise, for him also. Take The Oath has improved of late and, although beaten from his revised mark last time, ran well there and a repetition of that form dose can get him in the frame. Much as He's Hot Right Now was slightly disappointing on his chasing debut, his hurdling form was promising, and a translation of it to chasing grants him consideration. Of the others, Off The Edge showed some promise over hurdles and might improve over the larger obstacles, while French Direction showed progress when scoring at Fontwell last time and, with there appearing to be no fluke about it, can go well gain. Finally, What A Filly proved herself good enough to win over hurdles so could be interesting over fences, and Phase Three is another that should be better over hurdles than fences. Overall, though, the vote goes to Ultimate Limit.
