Verdict

Lowly but competitive fare with DENTON RYAL taken to build on a recent comfortable C&D success dropped in grade. Far from disgraced in maiden and handicap company, he clearly appreciated the easier level. There may even be a little more to come from the four-year-old. Tony Carroll's dual purpose servant, Le Corvee, is always competitive at this level, whilst the consistent Courella is back over timber after a fair stab at steeplechasing and should go well. Red Lancer's 2004 Chester Vase win is but a distant memory but he didn't do too badly last time and keep an eye out for Share Option. He's shown little in the past 18 months but the stablemate of Le Corvee showed useful form in the past and Daryl Jacob is an eye-catching booking.
