In depth

Verdict

Most of these are maiden winners who have already been beaten in handicaps. Ceelo has struggled since scoring at Newbury, albeit in better company than this, but he's still preferred to July's Ayr winner Megamunch. Smart Spender and Time And Place were both beaten off today's marks last time having won at Doncaster and Chester respectively before that so the vote goes to FILS ANGES. He won with plenty to spare over the minimum trip at Newcastle in October and there should be more to come this year from Michael Bell's colt, who goes handicapping for the first time.
