Verdict
Norma Macauley hasn't been long in dropping Eastern Dagger into this grade and with useful claimer Luke Fletcher negating the 5lbs penalty, he looks the one they all have to beat. Bought out of Mark Johnston's yard for ¿10,000 after winning a claimer at Leicester, he hasn't cut much ice in better company since and will appreciate the drop in class here. He may have most to fear Fine Frenzy, who drops into selling company for the first time. She has been somewhat disappointing since winning her maiden last year, including when tried in a visor for the first time at Brighton on her latest outing. The visor is dispensed with here in favour of the cheekpieces and if they have the desired effect, she is more than capable. Allenwood isn't one to rely on, but one who could run well at a decent price is Giles Bravery's Ziet D'Alsace, who has attracted support on more than one occasion and now dropped into this grade for the first time, she is one to keep an eye on, but Eastern Dagger sets the standard and will be tough to beat.
