      Verdict

      ERMINE RUBY had looked moderate in two races on Turf after promising debut on Polytrack. She reverted to that surface at Lingfield and gained an impressive victory so she can defy a 5lb rise back on this surface. Ivy Port has become something of a Southwell specialist gaining both career victories there though she produced her best Turf effort so far at Redcar last month. Mill I Am is another who has only won on an artificial surface while Strike A Light landed a very minor handicap here in May but has been unable to overcome a 4lb rise subsequently.
