In depth
Verdict
The progressive PERFECT CHARM followed a maiden success at Ffos Las by winning on last week’s handicap debut at the same track. A double penalty is reduced by an apprentice’s 7lb allowance and Archie Watson’s filly is the one to beat in this opener. The veteran Bronze Beau finished runner-up over track and trip last month when ahead of Tina Teaspoon, Haveoneyerself and Swell Song and may prove the biggest threat on that form. Better is expected from Broughton Excels back over the minimum trip today, though he hasn’t raced since November, but the remainder are hard to recommend.
