Broughtons Silk and Eurotanz figure prominently in calculations but BLUE TURK is taken to put his rivals to the sword. The gelding has had just seven career starts and just the one for this yard when achieving his best ever placing at Lingfield. He's entitled to come on for the run, Pat Cosgrave takes over from an apprentice and his form for Ger Lyons suggests that the quicker ground won't be a problem and he looks to have the scope to pick up a race or two of this nature. Broughtons Silk was ridden out to win a selling handicap over course and distance and may not find this contest any tougher and she should go close despite having to carry a penalty. Eurotanz drops back in trip in an attempt to gain a first success and it's far from certain to work the oracle given that she's been held in handicap company over a mile in the past. She's only had a handful of starts though and isn't one to be written off yet. Dudley Docker has dropped to a good mark and regular jockey, Liam Jones, is back on board for the first time for this yard so he's worth a look whilst it would be churlish to overlook the claims of Night Knight despite the recent evidence. Of more interest is Black Salix whose two runs in handicap company have not been devoid of promise despite the finishing positions. She looks capable of better yet and could go well at a price but Blue Turk rates the more solid option.
