CONSULT will be a very short price to see off Royal Premier and Broughtons Point. As is typical with many Sir Mark Prescott runners, Consult was given three quick runs as a juvenile before setting the handicapper a puzzle. He initially rated the Dr Fong gelding at 45 but the horse was unable to score at Southwell. Despite going up 5lb for that near miss, it could be that a mark of 50 is very lenient and the bookmakers will be taking no chances whatsoever. Royal Premier is just 1lb higher than when successful over course-and-distance. He was a little disappointing at Goodwood last time out but with as trip and ground suits, he will be the most likely to prosper if the favourite fails to perform. Broughtons Point won a two miles at Yarmouth in April. He has placed off today's mark though looks to be held as far as winning opportunities are concerned. Dovedon Earl appears plenty exposed although his yard's runners have been performing much better than what they were. The remainder seem to have extremely limited appeal on their previous racecourse efforts. Consult looks to have been campaigned with these trips in mind and he should be able to make full use of the handicapper's current benevolence.
