        Verdict

        Sunset Mirage, al the better for a run three weeks ago, can take this at the expense of Talwandi and New Morning. Ed Dunlop's filly shaped with a great deal of promise behind the hotpot Bayhirr on her Leicester return and should be on the mark over this slightly longer trip. Talwandi finished sixth behind the selection and appears held although he too should improve for the run. New Morning has a lot to live up to, being a full-sister to Islington and Greek Dance, and may do better than on her racecourse introduction at Ayr last October when she failed to justify favouritism after being slowly away. She too will be expected to pay her way over middle-distances this term and can go close. Of the rest, Modesta, a half-sister to Reams of Verse, is worth a mention. Fourth to the highly rated Winds Of March on her Newbury debut, Henry Cecil's filly should be good enough to take a maiden in due course. On this occasion though, we prefer the claims of Sunset Mirage.
