Verdict

There's sure to be plenty of interest in Native Colony, who appreciated the step up in distance when second to Royal Premier on his handicap debut over C&D last month. Roger Varian's colt is only a pound higher here and has to go on the short-list. But he'll be a short price and we're prepared to give another chance to HANDLES FOR FORKS, who couldn't handle the step up in class at Sandown last time but had shown promise over 1m4f earlier and is bred to stay. Mick Channon's filly gets the nod. Indochina has been placed a couple of times this year and looks the pick of the remainder but is more exposed than the three-year-olds.
