        Verdict

        Whipphound is versatile as to trip and was only beaten a short-head in an amateurs' race over 5f at Catterick two weeks ago, though five of his six victories have come on the all-weather. Colourbearer was in good form on artificial surfaces in the spring but is 0-23 on Turf and hasn't raced since the end of May. KEENE'S POINTE looks a better bet as he won on good to soft at Hamilton last month and is only 2lb higher following a third at the same track when he didn't really handle heavy going. Palmina looks the pick of the three-year-olds and is also preferred to top weight Monsieur Jamie.
