        Verdict

        ANOTHER TRY gets a speculative vote in the finale. Welsh Opera and Elkhorn would also be dangerous to rule out, while Fuzzy Cat travels a long way for this and is also respected. The last named won at Southwell last time out and, as a rare visitor to Yarmouth from the David Barron yard, he is one to seriously monitor in the betting. Similar comments apply to Elkhorn, who goes well on these straight courses and can be effective in this company. It does have to be a concern that all his best form has been at Redcar, though. Welsh Opera won here last month and has been consistent since then. The handicapper has given him a chance and a bold effort can be anticipated. However, Another Try holds similar claims and as he is likely to be available at more attractive odds, the Alan Jarvis-trained gelding gets the nod to land the finale.
