In depth

Verdict

Music Note is given the tentative vote in this maiden with Green Calibre and Marc of Brilliance the other pair to catch the eye. The selection attracted support on his debut but ran disappointingly. However, he left that form behind when a good second behind Doctor Scott at Hamilton last time and if he can reproduce that performance today he will take plenty of beating. Green Calibre never really travelled on his debut over 7f at Leicester when well beaten behind Dahaleez. He should be suited by the step-up in trip and this colt from the Sir Michael Stoute yard is not one to dismiss lightly, but he will need to improve to get his head in front today. Marc of Brilliance is the Godolphin representative here but he ran no sort of race on his debut at Newmarket and he will need a dramatic improvement if he is to fare better in this contest. Sinnbad is an interesting newcomer from the Mark Johnston yard and is another to note in the market, but for the winner we will stick with Music Note who sets a fair benchmark for the rest.
