The question here is whether Gigs Magic truly gets home at this sort of trip, and we will oppose him and take a chance on Spaceman to score. Luca Cumani's colt will have no issues on that score, having already run well enough over 12f and then last time out being involved in tight finish here over c&d. He appreciates firm ground, comes from a yard who are having a good season and he should represent some value agains the likely favourite Gigs Magic. Mark Johnston is certainly having a good time of it lately, but not good enough to prevent Gigs Magic being a beaten favourite over 10f at Brighton last time out. On that occasion he was short-headed by Factual Lad after being sent on to win his race and he gave the impression that probably 10f would be his limit so we'll take him on. Polish Welcome has got plenty of stamina in her pedigree and we'd anticipate more from her now stepped up in trip, while the same can be said of Mighty Splash, who should benefit from the extra three furlongs here. But Spaceman has a few things in his favour here and is a sporting selection.
