      Verdict

      It’s a while since Star Shield won on Turf but he is usually thereabouts. Goddess Of Fire scrambled home over course and distance a week ago but has a penalty to carry, though beat Magnetised here and at Brighton last season. BAKE (NAP) didn’t handle soft going at Haydock in the autumn but had earlier looked most progressive here and at Doncaster and still has bags of scope. Percy's Lad may struggle to give weight to Martyn Meade’s gelding.
