This apprentice handicap isn't the best get out stakes you¿ll come across and given that we'll take a chance at some value with GENEROUS LAD, who could make his feather light burden count to finish ahead of Broughtons Silk and Gifted Heir. The pick will only ever win now and again but now down to a career low mark he could add to his record here. Trainer Andrew Haynes works hard at placing his horses and he may have found an opportunity for this one to run a big race. Broughtons Silk was expected to go better last time but there is a decent chance he'll bounce back with 10lbs removed from his burden by his pilot's claim. Gifted Heir is one of the more consistent in the field after only finding one to good in each of his last two start both under this jockey. Another prominent run is expected but his best is usually saved for the all-weather tracks Pretty Officer and Carmela Maria both can be added to the shortlist after some solid efforts recently but in a tough end to the card we¿re taking a bit of a chance on Generous Lad.
