Verdict
Plenty in with claims in this tough finale and the tentative nomination goes to Karlani ahead of Casual Affair and Takes Tutu. The selection isn't the most straightforward of horses but he beat the progressive Atlantic Coast (runs in the 5.00 race) on his penultimate outing and if he can be persuaded to put his best hoof forward, then he should be involved in the finish. Danzatrice can be somewhat in-an-out but he does have his ideal conditions and could surprise a few, as could El Alamein who ran too badly to be true last time at Pontefract and may be worth giving another chance to now on a more conventional track. Campli and Hue are both fairly consistent but neither's recent form sets the world alight, a comment that also applies to Boxhall. In better form are the trio of Takes Tutu, Casual Affair and Hugs Destiny, all of whom have claims but the best looks to be Takes Tutu who comes here on the back of two all-weather wins, but stamina is not assured. All in all this looks a tricky end, and the nomination remains with Karlani.
