In depth

Verdict

David O'Meara is having a wonderful season so Quite Spark must be respected as he's just as likely to be suited by this trip as the mile he scored over at Thirsk. Suffolk Punch has never really progressed from scoring at Epsom as a juvenile and doesn't win often enough while Wisecraic has been disappointing since a debut success, a remark that also applies to My Son Max though he ran quite well at Leicester last time. BERTIEWHITTLE stepped up to this trip for the first time at Musselburgh and the result was a much-improved effort. He looks the type to go on to better things but will find Layla Jamil a tough opponent. Mick Channon's filly looked a nice prospect when scoring at Chester and though well beaten at Haydock subsequently she had her excuses and must rate a big threat.
