Sporting Gesture and Tcherina both need to be feared on their favourite track however Turn Of Phrase loves the rain and having won for this jockey before, Noel Wilson's gelding is fancied to win again. A very consistent sort, the selection is at his best when the mud is flying and with his jockey's 5lb claim negating his rise in the weights, he is fancied to win again. A wide draw isn't ideal but with enough time to recover he is given our vote. High Treason has been out of form of late but would have solid claims on the best of his form, whilst Tcherina won this race two years ago and may bounce back to form. According To Pete is unexposed on the flat and this useful dual-performer could run well, as could Rudry World who has won two of his last three and is very much at home on the ground. Top Tiger is unexposed and with the stable in top form warrants respect although this handicap debut looks tough enough. Cripsey Brook is on a decent mark if back to form however in an open, and hopefully lucky last, we will side with Turn Of Phrase.
