In depth

Verdict

Jamaican Bolt is the only one of these bringing winning form into the race but he's penalised for his victory at a much lower level at Hamilton 10 days ago. Hazelrigg is handicapped to go close but is a tricky customer while Racy is often well backed but just can't seem to get his head in front and was disappointing on soft ground over C&D last time. SECRET WITNESS is very tough and will appreciate the drop back into handicap company after contesting a Group 3 at The Curragh last month. He likes it here, acts on the ground and is just as effective over 5f as 6f so is fancied to concede weight all round. Lui Rei, Ancient Cross and Kaldoun Kingdom are others with claims but Steps hasn't progressed as expected this year and the fitting of blinkers isn't a good sign.
