          Verdict

          This valuable handicap looks as wide-open as ever. William Haggas landed this with Green Destiny in 2011 and it would not surprise were STENCIVE to follow in his footsteps. The selection, steadily progressive at three, made an unspectacular return to action at Newmarket before improving markedly to notch the runner-up spot in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot after coming with a long, steady challenge under Frankie Dettori. This drop back to a mile and a quarter could be just what's required and he can go one better. Niceofyoutotellme quickened up well to score the last twice and is the sort whose ability to do so keeps him ahead of the handicapper. Clon Brulee is another notable improver who must be kept on the right side, with Expert Fighter, Danchai and Star Lahib all respected and worthy of consideration.
