In depth
Verdict
Another tough race to call for punters but WAFFLE looks to be the most solid option, while there is little to choose between Anglezarke and Rievaulx World in the battle for the minor honours. Waffle has earned top rating here courtesy of a couple of excellent efforts in defeat when runner-up in both a more competitive handicap than this and a Group 3 last backend. His form with Amour Propre in the latter race suggests that he really is the best of this lot and at the weights he is the pick. Those wanting to pick holes in his make-up would point to the fact that he is unproven on fast ground, but his sire won on it a couple of times and hopefully he will not be inconvenienced. Anglezarke and Rievaulx World have both finished further adrift of Amour Propre and so look to have a bit to find with the selection. Of that pair Rievaulx World is preferred on account on today's ground and he should go very well. Thunderous Mood might find this a bit quick for him underfoot, but is otherwise much respected with a Group 3 placed run under his belt. Aldermoor has fast ground form but needs to improve plenty to trouble the selection, Waffle, who might just go on and on to better things.
