Verdict

SEEKING THE BUCK is given the nod here ahead of Yes Mr President, Whispering Gallery and Class Is Class. Ralph Beckett's gelding has held his form well all season and he was a gallant fourth in the John Smith's Cup here when last seen. The handicapper has edged him up a couple of pounds but he should still be competitive and is nominated accordingly. Strategic Mount is capable of making a bold bid under his big weight, Montbretia has been given a break since her last run at Haydock and she should appreciate this easier grade, whilst Yes Mr President is a game stayer and he lost little in defeat last time. Along with the progressive three-year-old Whispering Gallery and the lightly-weighted Topolski Mark Johnston has a strong hand. Boz is slightly frustrating to follow and is probably high enough in the weights so the more lightly raced pair of Class Is Class and Presbyterian Nun may pose more of a danger. Coin Of The Realm impressed when last seen at Epsom and a 5lb higher mark may not be enough to stop him whilst at a price Resplendent Light could run well. An open start to the card but we will stick with Seeking The Buck.
