COPPER KNIGHT beat Mulzim and Mondammej in a similar-class race over the course and distance last week, the winner's fifth victory here. The third was undoubtedly unlucky in-running but Tim Easterby's great servant has won from much higher marks in the past so a 5lb rise may not prevent a sixth track success. Makanah beat the selection a short-head at Newmarket in June but was receiving 6lb and now has to concede 12lb so looks poorly treated but Pendleton, a winner on soft ground at Ascot in October 2019, was having his first start since when headed on the line back there a fortnight ago so has to be a threat. Duke Of Firenze, three times a winner here, was engaged at Catterick last night.
