In depth

Verdict

Ralph Beckett does so well with fillies in his care and is doubly represented with SIGHTLINE and The Begum. The former harbours stronger claims as she boasts a healthy profile this term and is taken to defy topweight under Pat Smullen with further progress anticipated. Playful Sound outpointed better-fancied stable companion, Statuesque, when making a winning debut at Salisbury and this will provide us with a better idea of her ability. Her master trainer is the shrewdest of placers of the horses in his care. Similar comments are attributable to Colonial Classic, who confirmed juvenile promise when getting off the mark in a decent all-weather maiden this month. Both could be far better than the bare bones of their form whilst Mighty Lady, third to the selection last time but better off here, could go well at a price.
