In depth

Verdict

A median auction maiden and as always the market should prove most informative in solving it. Kyllachy Star is selected to land it despite a slightly disappointing effort on his second that which followed a most promising racecourse debut where he finished with a real rattle and would have scored in another couple of strides. It is possible that the ground at Newcastle last time would have been on the easy side for Richard Fahey's juvenile who should be better suited by the quicker conditions here. The selection has the beating of Tapis Wizard on Newcastle form. Tapis Wizard improved for his racecourse debut when finishing third on his second start, showing signs of greenness in the closing stages when drifting right. Russian George was well-backed to win an all-weather maiden first time out and should be all the better for the experience while the selection's stable companion Cosmic Sun would be of some interest if attracting market support given the fact he is likely to be suited by the step up to seven furlongs. Mefraas would need to improve to land this judging his two efforts while Perpetually is a well bred newcomer who should come into his own over further. Kyllachy Star is selected to break his maiden tag at the third time of asking.
