Bradford will be without David Solomona and Jamie Langley when they look to get their first win of the season at the expense of Huddersfield on Friday.
The 2009 campaign has been a stop-start affair for the Bulls so far, with their opening fixture away at Harlequins falling foul of the the weather and then last week they had no game.
Their only competitive outing saw them denied victory on home soil when Michael Dobson slotted over a late drop goal to secure a 13-13 draw for Hull KR.
Both Solomona and Langley picked up shoulder injuries in that match and the former has been told he will require surgery after suffering a dislocation.
The former New Zealand international faces up to three months on the sidelines although Langley's injury is less serious, and he should be back in action before the end of March.
"It's disappointing to suffer two injuries like this so early on," coach Steve McNamara told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.
"You keep your fingers crossed, do all the rehab and prehab to try and prevent them but they were just two freakish injuries.
"We've just got to get on with it as a squad and that's what we're doing."
The forwards' absence means former Harlequins second rower Michael Worrincy will make his debut, while prop Matt James looks set to feature having only recently been recalled from a season-long loan at Halifax.
There is also a place in the 19-man squad for Bradford-born Elliott Whitehead, a 19-year-old second-rower who is an England Academy international.
Beaten Giants
Chris Nero will go up against his former club, as will Simon Finnigan, who left Bradford after one season to join the Giants during the winter.
Huddersfield head on their travels looking to bounce back from last weekend's 23-6 loss to St Helens at the Galpharm Stadium.
The Giants impressed against Saints but were unable to pull off a stunning result, two late scores give the final scoreline a flattering look in the visitors' favour.
However, new coach Nathan Brown has seen his side already win away after they began his reign with a resounding 30-8 triumph at Catalans Dragons.
Eorl Crabtree, who tore his right hamstring in that game, is still sidelined.
Meanwhile, the club expect loan signing Liam Fulton to arrive from NRL outfit Wests Tigers midway through the year.

Huddersfield squad: B. Hodgson, Aspinwall, Brown, Whaturia, D. Hodgson, Robinson, Faiumu, D. Griffin, Lolesi, Raleigh, Wild, Finnigan, Jackson, Mason, Korkidas, Kirmond, Moore, Cudjoe, Walsh.
