Australian scrum-half Marc Herbert is poised to make his first start for Bradford after overcoming a hamstring injury.
The 24-year-old was one of 11 close-season signings for the Bulls but is the only one not to have played after he picked up a niggle in training.
"He has been chomping at the bit for a couple of weeks but he looks okay now," said coach Mick Potter.
"He played well in the trials. You can see he has some very good attributes and, as he plays more games, hopefully we'll see more of them come out.
"I am really looking forward to seeing him play but no one is more excited than Marc."
Potter has also called up teenage forward John Bateman after losing Chev Walker and Heath L'Estrange to injuries sustained in last week's win over Crusaders.
Wakefield will be without Paul King after he sustained a foot injury prior to last week's defeat to Salford.
Ben Jeffries is also sidelined with a knee injury after a scan revealed a small tear, with minor surgery a possible option.
Youngster Josh Griffin is set to make his first team debut after returning to the Wildcats from Huddersfield, while Warrington loan signing Craig Harvey is also named in the initial 19.
Bradford squad: Addy, Ainscough, Ah Van, Bateman, Diskin, Elima, Hargreaves, Herbert, Kearney, Kopczak, Lynch, Olbison, Platt, Raynor, Royston, Scruton, Sibbit, Sykes, Whitehead.
Wakefield squad: Penny, Murphy, George, Korkidas, Rinaldi, Henderson, Morrison, Lee, P. Johnson, Dean, Gledhill, Mariano, Howarth, Veivers, Davey, Hyde, Griffin, Amor, Harvey.
